KNVB and Official Sleep Supporter M line have extended their partnership until 2030
The KNVB and M line have extended their partnership until 2030. As Official Sleep Supporter, the sleep brand M line will continue to be responsible for the sleep comfort of the Netherlands men’s national team, the Dutch Orange Lionesses and the Young Orange. With this extension, both parties are highlighting the growing awareness of sleep and recovery as an essential part of top-level sporting performance.
The partnership has been in place since 2017, when the Dutch Lionesses slept on M line mattresses for the first time and were crowned European champions on home soil. Since then, M line has been supporting the KNVB in ensuring a good night’s sleep, both in Zeist and during international finals. Sleep is also a key focus during the upcoming World Cup, and the players’ hotel is equipped with M line mattresses and pillows, so that players can count on a comfortable sleeping environment that supports optimal recovery even when away from home.
'We have been sleeping on M line mattresses and pillows for years and are completely satisfied. It is therefore incredibly valuable that we can continue to rely on M line in the years to come, both in Zeist and during major tournaments such as the World Cup,' says Dave Dekker, Commercial Director of the KNVB.
Sleep is playing an increasingly significant role in top-level sport. Alongside training, nutrition and data, recovery is also a key factor in performance. 'Sleep is no longer a side issue in top-level sport, but a serious performance factor, says Edwin Goedhart, team doctor at the KNVB. 'We see every day just how much of a difference good sleep comfort makes to recovery, focus and performance. By tailoring the sleeping environment to the players’ needs, we support their recovery after exertion so that they can perform at their best on the field.'
M line is also delighted with this extension. Ellis Capello, Managing Director of M line, said: 'It is a privilege to contribute to the KNVB’s success. We know how important sleep is, and we are proud that the KNVB has relied on us for this for many years. The fact that the KNVB has made a conscious decision to guarantee the same quality of sleep during a World Cup as it does in Zeist shows just how seriously sleep is taken these days. For us, this is a wonderful confirmation of how crucial a good night’s sleep can be for performance at the highest level.'
