Beter Bed and Beddenreus Eindhoven Ekkersrijt reopen after fire
Mayor of Son en Breugel cuts ribbon
The official reopening of the third Beter Bed Experience at furniture boulevard Ekkersrijt in Eindhoven was festively celebrated this afternoon. In 2023, several companies on the furniture boulevard were closed after a fire. That also affected Beddenreus, which is also part of BBH B.V. The mayor of Son en Breugel Suzanne Otters-Bruijnen and alderman Jan Boersma were present to cut the ribbon. After an opening speech, invited guests and shoppers’ public could join for a barbecue.
During the opening speech, the greatest thanks went to the firemen of Eindhoven. Martijn Akkermans, responsible for the Beter Bed shops, emphasised how important they had been: "With exceptional courage and precision, the firemen not only contained the flames, but also prevented a bigger disaster. Their adequate action managed to limit the damage and fortunately there were no casualties."
Around 100 people attended the reopening of the Experience Store and Beddenreus. Purchasing customers will still receive a duvet cover as a gift when spending from €100 until 16 June. One enthusiastic customer says: "I came to look at a new box spring and was able to order it straight away. Nice that I could also pick out a new duvet cover to go with it."
Applying data in sleep advice
The reopening of the Experience in Eindhoven will allow Beter Bed to further grow its latest shop concept. The bed specialist currently has two other Experiences in Groningen and Baarn. The shop focuses on the experience of a good night's sleep and of waking up refreshed. Perijn Hoefsloot, responsible for Marketing & Strategic Business Development: "With this shop, we can make our 'sleep better, live better' promise personal and tangible. Everyone is different and has different sleep needs. This shop allows us to give consumers the best advice when it comes to good sleep, because we can offer them new insights with different tools." In addition to the knowledge of our sleep experts, data is also applied. "We do that with the Beter Slapen ID technology, where sensors in a test mattress measure the body and determine a so-called lying profile.
It often turns out that consumers have very different needs than they initially thought. And those who eventually choose a new mattress give their sleep quality a much higher rating afterwards. Our customers rate their sleep 20% higher after receiving advice in the shop and using the Beter Slapen ID," continues Perijn Hoefsloot
